Orchard Growth Partners, providers of finance director services, congratulates their client, Lorraine Cavanagh of The Dockland Settlements charity, on receiving an OBE for services to East London community
Paul Cooper, a principal finance director for Orchard Growth Partners, expresses congratulations on behalf of the financial director services company. Paul has provided finance director services to the Docklands Settlement Charity since 1992.

The Charity provides youth and community services across the board to the Stratford area of London. Ms Cavanagh has been integral in helping to develop these services and in promoting them across the local community and thereby improving the quality of life for many residents of the London Borough of Newham. The childcare initiative, including a breakfast club and after school club, has helped more than 100 parents return to work, whilst providing the children with a secure and friendly environment pre and post school throughout term time.

Ms Cavanagh has been involved in The Dockland Settlements for over 25 years, and has also been a member of the Governments National Community Forum where she advised the Government on the effect of their policies on local people.

Delighted with her award, Lorraine Cavanagh commented; "This is not just a medal for me; it is a medal for community voices. Once the voices of the community are heard, that's when we can start working together for positive change. It is lovely to receive the OBE, but it is great that the centre has been recognised as this is the work that goes on every day and will continue to go on."

Orchard Growth Principal, Paul Cooper, has worked with The Dockland Settlements since 1992 when he became Treasurer of the Stratford centre. Providing valuable finance director services, his role now is to act as Treasurer across the whole Group, which incorporates three different charitable centres in the Isle of Dogs, Rotherhithe and Stratford. His wide range of responsibilities include the preparation of annual budgets, advising the local management committees and the governing body on financial and management issues as well as assisting in the ongoing restructure process with a view to overall savings in excess of 100,000.
