LateRooms.com - Step Back in Time with World Heritage Day in Bath
Anyone who is interested in the history of the places they visit may want to head to the Cotswolds city of Bath for a series of historical re-enactments.

COTSWOLDS, ENGLAND, March 04, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- People who are staying in Cotswolds hotels next month may find that they get caught up in the World Heritage Day celebrations.

On April 18th, a series of events to mark the occasion are run around the city, ranging from historical re-enactments to outdoor theatre performances and guided tours.

Visitors to the area can find activities taking place at a host of venues around the city's streets, including Bath Abbey, Prior Park Landscape Garden, the Roman Baths and Number One Royal Crescent.

Organisers have yet to confirm the final programme of events, however it will follow a similar pattern to the successful range of activities offered in 2009.

Last year, attendees were invited to explore the region on a guided walk including taking a route along the Cotswolds Way or with an Abbey Tower Tour, according to the Bath Heritage Watchdog.

Meanwhile, Bath Abbey was the site of a Roman re-enactment, with men dressed as Roman soldiers and carrying their trademark shields providing entertainment for the crowds, This Is Bath reported.

Bath is one of 28 Unesco-designated world heritage sites in the UK and features among locations such as Canterbury Cathedral, Blenheim Palace, the Tower of London and Stonehenge.
