MOL Starts Safety Campaign
Six week campaign begins to achieve safety goals
TOKYO, JAPAN, September 03, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President: Koichi Muto) today announced the launch of a six-week safety campaign. President Muto, executives, and other personnel will proactively visit MOL-operated vessels to exchange opinions with on-board employees. The campaign is intended to achieve the goal of "Four Zeroes*" set out in the midterm management plan "GEAR UP! MOL", which began in April 2010. Proposals and ideas gained through discussions with seafarers will be shared throughout the MOL Group and with other MOL and MOL Group-operated vessels, with the aim of further enhancing the safe operation structure.

- Measures to prevent incidents during mooring operations
- Measures to prevent troubles due to poor maintenance
3. Target vessels
MOL-operated vessels (dry bulkers, tankers, LNG carriers, car carriers, containerships)
Group company-operated vessels (ferries, cruise ships)
4. Vessel visitors
Land-based marine officers and executives and employees of business and corporate divisions
