The Laguna Phuket Triathlon will allow participants to undergo a gruelling physical challenge on November 27th 2011.

PHUKET, THAILAND, October 22, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Amateur athletes will be congregating in Phuket next month to take part in the Laguna Phuket Triathlon, which is to be held on November 27th this year.
 
Running for the last sixteen years, the event allows participants to put themselves to the ultimate physical test alongside top triathletes, while passing through striking tropical scenery.
 
Professionals such as Mark Allen, Greg Welch, Craig Alexander, Paula Newby-Fraser, Michellie Jones and Chrissie Wellington are among those who have taken part in past years.
 
The race starts with a 1.8 km swim from the beach, followed by a 55 km bike ride that takes in steep inclines, rough road surfaces and narrow, winding roads.
 
It concludes with a 12 km running phase that will lead competitors to the finish line.
 
Those wishing to take part can compete either in an individual or team relay-based triathlon, with brackets available for everyone between the ages of 18 and 65.
 
There will also be a separate six km fun run option open that allows anyone aged over 12 to get involved.
