The Standard Chartered Bangkok Marathon 2011 will raise money for good causes when it takes place this November.

BANGKOK, THAILAND, October 06, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bangkok is to play host to a high-profile charity run this November when the Standard Chartered Bangkok Marathon 2011 is held in the Thai capital.
 
Taking place to coincide with the seventh cycle birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the race will see participants from around the world running through Bangkok in the early hours on a 42.195 km journey of endurance.
 
As they traverse the famous city, racers will be able to take in the sights and sounds of Bangkok while being cheered by crowds of onlookers, with proceeds going to the charitable foundations under the patronage of the Thai royal family.
 
The race itself is to commence at 01:00 local time and concludes at 10:00, with registration to take place on the two preceding days.
 
Visitors can choose to take part in the full race or in micro, mini and half marathons, while a separate division for wheelchair users is also available.
 
The high-profile event is set to be broadcast on national TV and radio in Thailand.
